African Ivory

Alabaster Grains for your Kitchen and Bath

African Ivory Granite Gives Indoor and Outdoor Countertops Style

If you are planning a kitchen or bath remodel, you may be trying to decide the best countertop material to use. If one of your remodeling projects is outside, exposed to the elements, your options may seem to be very limited as many traditional countertops are not designed for outside kitchens. Moisture can cause them to warp or crack. Consider African Ivory granite for your countertop material.

African Ivory Granite Designer Thoughts

African Ivory is finely grained and polished created from granite found in Nambia. The counters are durable and attractive, giving you the rich look of stone countertops with the ease of maintenance you want for your busy family. African Ivory is available in many attractive colors, whether you are seeking a rich cream or a deep sienna. You can find clouded grays or the deepest jet black. Whatever your color scheme may be, you will be able to find the granite in the shade you need.

Keep in Mind

African Ivory, despite its name, is not made of ivory, but of granite. Like all granite countertops, African Ivory granite can be cleaned with soap and water but should not be cleaned with harsh chemicals as this can strip the seal, leaving the porous surface exposed which can lead to bacteria build-up. Acidic materials and foods should not be placed directly on the countertop and any spills of acidic material should be wiped up immediately. Granite countertops should be sealed and buffed once they are installed. Some substances can discolor granite, such as olive oil, so be sure to wipe bottles and jars if they will be placed on the counter for any length of time.
