Eternity Porcelain Countertops in NJ

Design your space with ceramic, porcelain, and stone tile

Some kitchens and living spaces demand more than quartz or granite can deliver. A kitchen with floor-to-ceiling windows. A sunroom with afternoon sun blasting across the island. An outdoor kitchen in a Hunterdon County backyard that needs to hold up through New Jersey winters. Or simply a cook who wants to move hot pans from the stove to the counter without a second thought.

For all of those situations — and more — porcelain slab countertops are the answer that quartz and even granite cannot fully match.

Eternity Porcelain (also known as Eternity Tec) is an exclusive line of premium imported porcelain slab countertops distributed through our supply partner, Earth Stone & Tile in New Jersey. At Flemington Granite, we custom-fabricate and install Eternity Porcelain surfaces for homeowners, builders, and designers across New Jersey — from kitchen islands and bathroom vanities to outdoor kitchens, feature walls, and fireplace surrounds.

What Is Eternity Porcelain?

Eternity Porcelain is an exclusive line of large-format porcelain slab surfaces manufactured and imported from leading ceramic production facilities worldwide. These slabs are engineered for use as countertops, vanity tops, feature walls, backsplashes, and both indoor and outdoor surfaces.

Porcelain slabs are made through a process called sintering — a combination of dense, refined clay and mineral pigments compressed under extreme pressure and fired at very high temperatures. This process vitrifies the material completely, producing a slab that is non-porous, exceptionally hard, UV-stable, and resistant to heat, cold, stains, and bacteria.

Unlike natural stone, porcelain never requires sealing. Unlike quartz, porcelain is not affected by UV light — which means it can be installed outdoors, in sun-drenched kitchens, and in spaces where other materials would eventually fade or degrade.

What Makes Porcelain Slab Different From Quartz and Granite

Most NJ homeowners are familiar with granite and quartz. Porcelain slab is the newer category — and for specific situations, it outperforms both.

Porcelain Is the Only True Outdoor Countertop Material

This is the most important distinction, and it matters for a significant number of New Jersey homeowners.

Quartz contains polymer resins. Those resins degrade under prolonged UV exposure — causing fading, discoloration, and surface breakdown over time. That is why every reputable quartz manufacturer specifies indoor-only use.

Granite handles outdoor conditions reasonably well, but it is porous, requires sealing, and that sealer needs maintenance over time — especially through NJ freeze-thaw cycles.

Porcelain is an inorganic, vitrified material. It contains no resins. UV light does not affect it. It does not absorb water, so freeze-thaw cycles cannot crack or damage it. Porcelain is the strongest option outdoors because it is UV-resistant and heat-tolerant. For outdoor kitchens, covered patios, poolside bars, and alfresco dining surfaces in New Jersey, porcelain slab is not just a good choice — it is the right choice.

Porcelain Has Superior Heat Resistance

Heat is where these surfaces separate clearly. Porcelain holds its strength under high temperatures and does not react to hot pans or cookware. The sintering process that creates porcelain produces a surface that was literally formed at extreme temperatures — it simply does not register the kind of heat a kitchen generates.

This is a meaningful practical advantage for households where cooking is a daily priority. While we always recommend using trivets as a matter of general care, porcelain gives you far more tolerance for daily kitchen realities than quartz.

Porcelain Is Thinner and Lighter

At 12mm, a porcelain slab weighs significantly less than a standard 3cm (30mm) quartz or granite countertop. This has real project advantages:

  • Can be installed over existing countertops in renovation projects, avoiding costly demo
  • Easier to handle for large island and feature wall applications
  • Practical for floating vanities, wall cladding, and furniture applications where weight is a concern

No Sealing. Ever.

Like quartz, porcelain is fully non-porous and never requires sealing, polishing, or reconditioning. Both materials carry a higher upfront cost than laminate or entry-level granite, but their durability and zero-maintenance requirements translate to strong long-term value. Neither requires periodic sealing, polishing, or special treatments that add to the lifetime cost of ownership.

Benefits of Eternity Porcelain Countertops

  • UV-stable — color will not fade, yellow, or discolor in direct sunlight or outdoor conditions
  • Superior heat resistance — the highest thermal performance of any common countertop material
  • Non-porous — stain-resistant, bacteria-resistant, and never requires sealing
  • Scratch-resistant — extremely hard surface resists daily wear
  • Freeze-thaw resistant — suited for New Jersey outdoor applications year-round
  • Lightweight — significantly lighter than granite or quartz for easier installation
  • Chemical tolerant — porcelain is more tolerant of a wider range of cleaning products, including mild acids like diluted white vinegar
  • Large-format design — 127″×63″ slabs enable minimal seams and seamless visual flow
  • Natural stone aesthetics — advanced digital printing technology replicates marble, quartzite, travertine, and exotic stone with exceptional detail

Best Applications for Eternity Porcelain

Eternity Porcelain’s combination of UV stability, heat resistance, and lightweight profile makes it suitable for a wider range of applications than most countertop materials.

Indoor Applications

  • Kitchen countertops and large-format islands
  • Bathroom vanities and shower walls
  • Bar tops and butler’s pantries
  • Fireplace surrounds and feature walls
  • Accent walls and large-format backsplashes
  • Laundry room and mudroom surfaces

Outdoor Applications (Porcelain’s Unique Advantage)

  • Outdoor kitchen countertops — the #1 material choice for NJ outdoor cooking spaces
  • Covered and uncovered patio surfaces
  • Poolside bars and entertaining areas
  • Alfresco dining tables and serving surfaces
  • Outdoor feature walls and cladding

For NJ homeowners planning outdoor kitchen projects, porcelain is the only countertop material we can genuinely recommend without maintenance caveats. Granite requires ongoing sealing. Quartz is not suitable outdoors. Porcelain simply performs — through summer heat, fall rains, and NJ winters.

How to decide:

  • Choose porcelain if your project is outdoors, in a sun-heavy space, or if maximum heat resistance is a priority

Important Considerations for Porcelain Slab Countertops

Eternity Porcelain is one of the most maintenance-free surfaces available. Here is everything you need.

Daily Cleaning

  1. Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water — most spills clean up instantly.
  2. For cooking residue, use mild dish soap and warm water with a non-abrasive cloth.
  3. Rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth.

What to Avoid

  • Direct heavy impacts on edges and corners — avoid dropping heavy cast iron or tools near edges
  • Cutting directly on the surface — use a cutting board to protect both the surface and your knives
  • Abrasive scouring pads — these can dull the polished finish over time
  • Sharp tools — while the surface is scratch-resistant, deliberate scoring with metal tools can mark it

Unlike quartz, porcelain is more tolerant of a wider range of cleaning products, including mild acids like diluted white vinegar — meaning you have more flexibility in what you clean with.

No sealing. No polishing. No reconditioning. Eternity Porcelain keeps its look with minimal effort.

Cost of Eternity Porcelain Countertops in New Jersey

Porcelain slab countertops typically sit in the mid-to-premium price range for installed surfaces in New Jersey. Nationally, porcelain averages $120–$150 per square foot installed, though final pricing for your specific project will depend on several factors.

What Affects Eternity Porcelain Pricing

  • Pattern and color selected — some imported patterns carry a higher slab cost
  • Slab thickness — 12mm is standard; 20mm adds cost
  • Fabrication complexity — mitered edges, cutouts, and non-standard layouts add labor
  • Total project square footage
  • Substrate support requirements
  • Number of cutouts — undermount sinks, cooktops, faucet holes
  • Indoor vs outdoor installation — outdoor installations may require additional sealing and support considerations
  • Removal of existing countertops — if applicable

Frequently Asked Questions About Eternity Porcelain Countertops

Eternity Porcelain (also known as Eternity Tec) is an exclusive line of large-format imported porcelain slab surfaces distributed through Earth Stone & Tile in New Jersey. Made from dense refined clay fired at extreme temperatures, these slabs are UV-stable, heat-resistant, non-porous, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Yes — and it is the best countertop material for NJ outdoor kitchens. Porcelain is UV-stable (color will not fade in sunlight), freeze-thaw resistant (does not absorb water, so it will not crack through NJ winters), and fully non-porous. It is the only common countertop material that can be installed outdoors without the limitations that affect quartz (UV degradation) or granite (requires sealing and maintenance).

Porcelain outperforms quartz in heat resistance, UV stability, outdoor suitability, and chemical tolerance. Quartz outperforms porcelain in edge profile variety, repairability, and design range. For indoor kitchens and baths, both are excellent — the right choice depends on your priorities. For any outdoor application, porcelain is the clear choice.

No. Porcelain is fully vitrified and non-porous — it never requires sealing, polishing, or any ongoing maintenance treatment.

Porcelain's hardness makes chips from routine daily use uncommon. Sharp, direct impacts to exposed edges and corners — particularly from heavy dropped objects — can cause chips. This is more relevant during construction and installation than in normal household use. Our fabrication and installation team handles porcelain with appropriate care.

For kitchen countertops and heavily used surfaces, 12mm is the standard residential choice — it balances durability, weight, and cost. 20mm is available for applications requiring a more substantial appearance or where edge detail is important. 6mm is generally used for wall cladding, backsplashes, and lighter applications.

Porcelain slab countertops installed in New Jersey typically range from $100 to $150+ per square foot, depending on the pattern, thickness, edge treatment, and project complexity. Contact Flemington Granite at (908) 782-7773 for a specific quote for your project.

In some renovation cases, yes. Porcelain's lightweight 12mm profile makes it more feasible to install over existing surfaces than heavier granite or quartz. This depends on the condition and level of your existing countertops. Our team can assess your specific situation during the consultation.
